China-France cultural festival to get underway in S China

The 13th session of the China-France culture festival in South China will start on April 27, with special events to mark the 100th anniversary of the death of French Impressionist composer and pianist Claude Debussy.

Culture events will be staged in Guangzhou, Xiamen, Shenzhen, Foshan, Fuzhou and Nanning.

They will include a musical circus, photo exhibitions, concerts of various genres, magic shows, lectures by writers and film screenings.

The festival indicates the density and quality of bilateral cooperation between France and South China in cultural as well as commercial and educational sectors, said Siv Leng Chhuor, French consul general in Guangzhou, at a press conference on April 18.

The cities of Guangzhou, Xiamen, Shenzhen, Foshan, Fuzhou and Nanning will host cultural events in celebration of the 13th session of the China-France culture festival in South China. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]
