Maoming residents' income rises by 3.1% in H1

The per capita disposable income of Maoming residents reached 12,456.40 yuan ($1,794.65) in the first half of this year, an increase of 3.1 percent from the same period of the previous year, which is 1.8 percent higher than that in the first quarter of the year.

The growth rate of the per capita disposable income of Maoming residents in the first half of the year was also 0.7 percent higher than the national average and 0.9 percent higher than the provincial average.

The per capita disposable income of urban residents in Maoming from January to June was 16,052.40 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1 percent, while that of rural residents in Maoming was 9,536.60 yuan, an increase of 1.9 percent.

The difference between the income of urban residents and that of rural residents was 1.68 times in the first half of this year, smaller than that of the national and provincial levels.

The per capita income from wages and salaries of Maoming residents in the first half of the year was 5,962.20 yuan, increasing by 5.7 percent year-on-year and contributing 85.6 percent to the growth in the city's disposable income.

As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has been brought under effective control, production and business activities of people in Maoming have been resumed.

The per capita net income from operations of urban residents in Maoming from January to June was 3,187.10 yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 10.2 percent, while that of rural residents in Maoming reached 2,277 yuan, increasing by 11.3 percent from the same period of the previous year.
