Feel the love deeply at flower show in Shenzhen

Themed "Deep love", the 2021 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Shenzhen Flower Show kicked off its 10-day run on Saturday.
At the opening ceremony, organizers launched a new rose variety — the "Greater Bay Area Star". Cultivated by a well-known rose research and development company in the United Kingdom, the rose's color can appear to be anything from cherry red to deep pink. The variety is easy to plant and resists cold, heat and disease.
Around 435 institutions and individuals from 19 foreign countries took part in the exhibition, and gardeners from 29 Chinese cities showed off their plants.
The show's 38 gardens provide visitors with a deep impression of a spectacular herbaceous world. Eight international gardens were designed by 8 masters from Russia, the UK, New Zealand, South Africa, Spain, the Philippines and Lithuania.
Visitors can enjoy more than 1,000 new plant species, as well as the innovative floral works of renowned designers from around the world.
Yang Lei, deputy director of the Shenzhen comprehensive law-enforcement bureau, said the flower show is an important way for Shenzhen to become a world-renowned flower city. Residents can enjoy the beauty of the world's flowers, Yang said, and it's necessary to build an platform to showcase the international level of the gardening industry in the Greater Bay Area.
