A matchmaking meeting to introduce Beijing's industrial projects and capital to Foshan city, South China's Guangdong province was held in Qiandeng Lake Venture Capital Town, Foshan, on April 7.

Participants included representatives from the Management Committee of the Foshan National Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone, the Foshan Torch Innovation and Pioneer Park Co., Ltd., Innovation Lighthouse Technology Park Incubator, Hanhai Holdings and 34 local investment institutions.

Eight high-tech projects from Beijing gave roadshow presentations during the meeting, displaying their smart products and high-end technologies on the spot.

Li Manguang, Member of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of the Foshan National Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone, said at the meeting that the city of Foshan is at a vital point in its move towards high-quality development. To make it possible, Foshan has been developing new business areas such as robotics, additive manufacturing, new energy vehicles, and the industrial Internet.

A series of support policies have been formulated to attract high-tech industries, in addition to the establishment of an efficient approval system, Li said.

The Foshan Torch Innovation and Pioneer Park of the high-tech zone will set up special funds focused on such industries as biomedicine, new materials and artificial intelligence, said Liang Guangming, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Park. He added that Beijing's high-quality projects are welcomed to land in the park.

Project participants said they look forward to settlement in Foshan as the Torch Innovation and Pioneer Park of the high-tech zone provides fertile soil for innovation and entrepreneurship and high quality services and products in an outstanding business environment.

The project matchmaking meeting is expected to facilitate efficient linkage between innovation resources in Beijing and industrial resources in Foshan, connect high-tech industrial projects and capital, and bring outstanding projects to Foshan's high-tech zone.

It will help drive the innovative development of strategic emerging industries in Foshan and promote high quality development of the Foshan National Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone.
