The list detailing the first group of ”Innovation Points 500” enterprises in national high-tech zones to trial the enterprise innovation point system was recently released by the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Science & Technology.

A total of 20 enterprises from the Foshan National Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone were included in the list.

Among the 20 companies, 17 belong to the manufacturing industry and 3 are related to the technical service industry, indicating that Foshan is a manufacturing city.

The Foshan Hi-tech Zone accelerated the establishment of the enterprise innovation point index system and selected a group of enterprises with outstanding innovation ability. These enterprises are recommended to participate in major projects to accelerate their growth.

In December 2020, the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center launched the first group of pilot enterprise innovation points systems in 13 national high-tech zones, including the Foshan Hi-tech Zone, to promote the coordinated development of technology finance and technology enterprises.

The Torch Center ranked the first group of 22,300 companies based on data and 20 core indicators. In the Foshan Hi-tech Zone, there are 1,676 eligible participating enterprises, accounting for over 70% of the total enterprises in the park.

The Foshan Hi-tech Zone Management Committee has included all 2,366 torch statistical enterprises in the park in the evaluation of enterprise innovation points, and has accurately and proactively matched policies with enterprises to promote the in-depth integration of technology finance and the innovation point system.

The management committee has established an enterprise innovation point data service platform. The data involved in the point index system are all taken from relevant government business departments, and enterprises do not need to fill in any forms.

The management committee also increased its support for enterprise innovation. In 2021, the top 100 enterprises of innovation points in the park received over 64.87 million yuan ($9.48 million) in policy support funds.

In order to further help technology enterprises, the Foshan Hi-tech Zone has built a bridge between technology and finance and introduced financial institutions, investment institutions, capital markets and other social institutions to participate in the pilot work of the enterprise innovation point system.

The zone will identify technology enterprises with a strong innovation ability and great growth potential through the accurate identification of enterprise innovation points, and guide various innovative elements such as technology, capital and talents to enterprises.
