As of May 10, Maoming has exported 214.5 metric tons of lychees to many Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) member countries including Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Canada, with a total value of 5.74 million yuan ($850,816).

Maoming has exported six batches of fresh lychees to RCEP member countries, accounting for more than 90 percent of its total lychee exports. Since its implementation at the beginning of this year, the RCEP has expanded a broader international market for Maoming.

Maoming has been helping lychee enterprises develop their overseas markets and providing targeted assistance to them. It has introduced RCEP policies to enterprises, actively promoted tariff concessions and rules of origin in the RCEP agreement, as well as guided enterprises to make full use of the RCEP rules.

Before the lychee export season, Maoming Customs strictly checked exported fruits, as well as conducted daily supervision of lychee orchards and packaging plants.

Due to the short shelf life of lychees, Maoming has provided a special channel for agricultural products. It has also adopted the declaration method of reservation to give priority to inspections and shorten the time for export customs clearance.

Maoming Customs will continue to take measures to facilitate customs clearance, optimize the ports' operating environment, support enterprises to develop wider overseas markets, as well as help the lychee industry become bigger and stronger.
