Techeng Island, a volcanic island formed 20 thousand years ago when the Leiqiong volcano erupted, ranks third among 97 candidate islands vying for the title of “The most beautiful island in China”.

The island, located in the Zhanjiang Harbor, is only three kilometers from the downtown area.

With an area of 3.6 square kilometers, Techeng Island boasts a coastal wetlands ecosystem that contains various sea creatures. The island also has a thousand-year-old mangrove forest under national protection.

Visitors can wander along the soft and white sand beach, appreciate the red reefs scattering everywhere along the coast, or enjoy a hot spring bath.
