The Nanguo Book Bar opened on Sept 25 in the Nanguo Tropical Garden in Zhanjiang. It is free to visit and offers a variety of choices for reading and relaxation.

A previous attraction in the park began being renovated into the book bar in December last year.

The bar covers an area of 500 square meters and can accommodate 120 people at once. It features a reading room, a cultural corridor, and a lecture room. Free tea is also available to all visitors.

The bar has a collection of about 10,000 books, including works of prose, books on education, books on politics, and children's books, catering to readers of all ages. All books are free to read but cannot be checked out.

"I never knew there was a book bar here. It's so beautiful. You can soak up the city culture and enjoy nature while getting immersed in a book," said a local surnamed Xiang.

The book bar is open from 9 am to 5:30 pm from Tuesday to Sunday. It will offer a variety of free activities such as lectures and reading parties.
