Zhanjiang held a video conference at the remote consultation center of the Affiliated Hospital of Guangdong Medical University with Brovary, Ukraine on March 30, exchanging strategies in the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, as well as sharing treatment experiences.

Suspected cases of COVID-19 have appeared in Brovary, but the city lacks prevention experience. The city asked Zhanjiang to assist in organizing medical teams to hold video conferences to guide medical institutions in Brovary to carry out epidemic prevention and control measures, as well as medical treatment.

The Brovary mayor thanked the people and doctors of Zhanjiang for their assistance in fighting the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic. He expressed his expectation that the valuable experience of Zhanjiang can play an effective guiding role to Brovary, as well as that the cooperation between the two cities can be strengthened in the future.

Zhanjiang and Brovary signed a memorandum to enhance exchanges and cooperation, as well as became sister cities on Oct 11, 2013.
