Zhanjiang Hengdian Cinema was invested in by Zhejiang Hengdian Studio Entertainment Co Ltd, an affiliated company of Hengdian Group, which is based in Zhejiang province and owns the country's largest film-and-television shooting base, Hengdian World Studios.

The cinema was constructed according to the highest standard of international cinemas, with a comfortable film-watching environment. It covers a combined floor area of more than 2,000 square meters, and has five 3D movie halls, with a total of 611 seats.
