The Guangdong provincial training base for Cantonese cuisine was settled in Suixi county, Zhanjiang on Aug 8, contributing to the city's "Cantonese Cuisine Master" project.

The "Cantonese Cuisine Master" project is an initiative to benefit rural residents that was launched in 2018 in the province. It aims to promote the high-quality employment of urban and rural workers, as well as help the province's targeted poverty alleviation efforts while advancing the inheritance of Cantonese cuisine culture.

Zhanjiang has been promoting the project over the last two years. To date, it has cultivated more than 3,500 Cantonese cuisine chefs, as well as realized 100 percent employment and entrepreneurship of these chefs.
