Guangzhou to host World Ports Conference in May
The International Association of Ports and Harbors' 31st World Ports Conference, an important biennial event with attendance from representatives of famous global ports and shipping institutions, is slated to be held in Guangzhou from May 6 to 10.

In the five-day event, in addition to the meetings of IAPH Board of Directors, luncheons, and technical committee group meetings, the Guangzhou Port Authority has also arranged an opening and closing ceremony, theme forums, keynote speeches, plenary sessions, group discussions, and six parallel forums. Over 1,000 people from the world's economic, port, and shipping industries will share new ideas and propose new solutions to boost global economic development.
The conference will invite many well-known enterprises, including China Communications Construction, COSCO Shipping, Maersk, Huawei, and other Fortune 500 companies. Port companies from home and overseas, such as the United States, Germany, Japan, and other countries, have already booked booths in advance to create displays for themselves and to seek business cooperation opportunities during the international event.
According to Yuan Yue, deputy head of Guangzhou Port Authority, Guangzhou Port, at present, has established friendly and cooperative relations with 45 ports in five continents across the globe. During the 2019 World Ports Conference, it will sign cooperation agreements with another two ports in the Netherlands and Brazil.
