Foshan eyes becoming city of Cantonese cuisines and famous chefs

The Cantonese cuisine chef training project focuses on catering talent training. Foshan plans to train more than 3,000 Cantonese cuisine talents every year. By the end of 2021, 30 famous Cantonese cuisine chefs will be selected, 10 training bases for Cantonese cuisine chef will be established, and 20 Cantonese cuisine master studios will be set up.

The Cantonese food experience project concentrates on creating Cantonese food cluster areas, encouraging catering enterprises to enter large commercial centers and communities, as well as supporting the brand development and innovation of catering enterprises. Five districts in Foshan will work together to create more than 10 food gourmet clusters with distinctive features and first-class service.

The quality Cantonese food ingredients project centers on the key work of cultivating the market entities of edible agricultural products, support the development of extended agricultural production bases, nurture and promote agricultural brands, as well as strengthen the traceability of product sources.

The Cantonese cuisine and chefs "go global" project features exchanges and cooperation events held across the country, the countries along the Belt and Road, and even around the world to promote Cantonese cuisine, Cantonese cuisine chefs, and Lingnan gourmet flavors. Foshan will provide subsidies for local catering enterprises to set up branches in other cities such as Shanghai, Beijing, and other large cities abroad. Foshan chefs can also enjoy incentives to work abroad.

The culture-tourism-catering integrated development project is dedicated to speeding up the construction of market entities integrating food, culture, and tourism businesses, strengthening the promotion of Cantonese cuisine culture, creating brand activities of Cantonese cuisine and tourism, as well as developing premium food tour routes.
