Foshan held the 2019 Publicity Conference of Foshan Pillar Enterprises and Foshan Entrepreneurs on June 21 to honor innovative enterprises and encourage entrepreneurship.

Twenty enterprises and 20 entrepreneurs were listed as a Foshan Pillar Enterprise and a Foshan Entrepreneur respectively, representing the new look of Foshan's economic development.

Since 2016, the CPC Foshan Municipal Committee and the municipal government have held the conference every two years to encourage entrepreneurship and craftsmanship, as well as to shape the innovative and unique spirit of Foshan entrepreneurs.

"Confidence is much more important than gold. The more difficulties and challenges we face, the more confidence we have in promoting high-quality development," said Lu Yi, Party secretary of Foshan at the conference.

In terms of Foshan's efforts to strongly promote entrepreneurship, Ye Delin, a representative of Foshan Entrepreneur, as well as chairman and CEO of Guangdong Newpearl Ceramics Group Co., Ltd, said that the conference has positive effects on shaping a better economic development environment in Foshan.

Han Xiaoxing, the representative commissioned by Thomas Schmitz, the president of ANDRITZ (China) Co., Ltd., promised that ANDRITZ (China) would fulfill the responsibilities of being a Foshan Pillar Enterprise by taking the lead to increase investment for localized research and development in Foshan.

The publicity conference attracted the attention from many entrepreneurs in Foshan. Chen Tian, director of the General Manager Office of Foshan Henglitai Machinery Co Ltd, said that pillar enterprises should be well known enterprises in the industry with a standardized operation and good benefits, adding that entrepreneurs should have a vision of patterns and strategy.

From the "1+3" policy package released to promote the high-quality development of the private sector economy last December to the "Ten Policies on Foshan Foreign Capital" issued this year, the groundwork for enterprise development in Foshan has become increasingly solid.
