Greater Bay Area radio and television union launched in Guangzhou

The first professional media alliance in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was inaugurated in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province on June 25.

The establishment ceremony for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Radio and Television Union was attended by Fu Hua, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and director general of the Publicity Department of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee; Lu Xinning, deputy director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong SAR, as well as Xue Xiaofeng, deputy director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR.

In his address, Fu said that the union bears great significance in enhancing the collaboration between media outlets in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, boosting the media industry and building the "Bay Area of Humanities".

He expressed hope that the media in the three places can synergize their resources, as well as build platforms and mechanisms to promote the future innovative development of the radio and television industry in the Greater Bay Area.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Radio and Television Union was initiated by Guangdong Radio and Television and jointly launched with 21 radio and television stations in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. The union consists of 10 media outlets from the two SARs and 11 from Guangdong.
