(en.zhanjiang.gov.cn) Update:2019-07-05

The worlds first intelligent molten iron transportation system completed the whole process single machine heavy-load molten iron transport in Zhanjiang, Guangdong province on July 1.

During the operation, the unmanned engine ran steadily under a smooth schedule. It marked yet another milestone in Zhanjiang’s high quality development of smart steel manufacturing.

Molten iron transportation is the bond of iron and steel interface and the closest link between steel mill logistics system and production. To further enhance operation and labor efficiency, Zhanjiang Ten Million Tons of Steel Base organized a professional project team with CISDI Group Co Ltd integrating advisory, design, basic automation, mechanical equipment, computer software, AI algorithm, and craftsmanship depending on multi-specialty and multi-discipline system integration advantages. After over a year of researches and on-site tests, technical problems have been overcome one by one.

Processes such as molten iron scheduling, locomotive driving, hook extraction, and route planning used to be completely completed by manual work. At present, the intelligent molten iron transportation system has realized whole process data management, intelligent dispatching and unmanned transportation utilizing artificial intelligence technologies such as Internet of Things, big data and machine vision. Zhanjiang Ten Million Tons of Steel Base plans to transform the other seven engines and 27 mixed iron vehicles in the future and all are planned to be put into service in December.

Zhanjiang Ten Million Tons of Steel Base will focus on enhancing efficiency and quality, decreasing labor intensity and cost, as well as accelerating intelligent plant and equipment promotion to develop into a smart base with intergenerational advantage targeting on becoming a demonstrator of Baosteel shares manufacturing base's management mode.
