Bridge by Shenzhen-based enterprise to open to traffic in Malaysia
The movable bridge in Terengganu, Malaysia built by China Huashi Enterprises Co Ltd, which is headquartered in Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong province, is set to officially open to traffic on Aug 1.
Situated in the Malaysian East Coast Economic Region, the bridge connects the south and north coast of the Terengganu River, and is the first wireless movable bridge in Southeast Asia. It is also considered as an important achievement for enterprises in Shenzhen to take part in the Belt and Road construction.
The bridge, which has a length of 638 meters, has two 16-storied bridge towers, four observation platforms, and two sky bridges. It also applies a wireless communication control system.
In recent years, China Huashi Enterprises Co Ltd has been accelerating the pace of "going out" and actively participating in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative. It has undertaken more than 20 engineering, mechanical, and electrical installation projects in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, and Terengganu of Malaysia, with a contract value totaling about 3 billion yuan ($436.16 million).
