According to statistics from the Shenzhen Huanggang Checkpoint, more than 44.29 million inbound and outbound passengers passed through the ports of Futian and Huanggang, as well as the Futian Bonded Zone in the first half of the year, with the daily average amounting to 244,000.
Huanggang Port received nearly 16.68 million domestic and foreign tourists in the first half of the year, while more than 27.5 million tourists went through Futian Port.
Huanggang Port is a comprehensive highway port with the largest number of trucks entering and exiting the country. It is also a gateway to Hong Kong through the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Zhuhai Expressway and the Shenzhen Futian Bonded Zone. It can offer 24-hour cargo and passenger transport check services.
Futian Port is an exit-entry land port for tourists due to its close metro connection between Hong Kong and Shenzhen.
The two ports have been promoting self-service customs clearance in recent years. The proportion of tourists using self-service customs clearance at Huanggang Port in the first half of the year was 75 percent, while that at Futian Port was 82 percent.
In addition, the two ports also take on the task of maintaining border security. From January to June, the number of criminals uncovered exceeded 400, and the number of illegal smuggling handled was more than 12,000.
