Greater Bay Area kung fu film week to kick off in Foshan
A news conference was held on Nov 12, announcing that the 2019 China (Foshan) Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Kung Fu Film Week will be held in Foshan, Guangdong province from Dec 17 to 21.
The film week is the first of its kind named after the Greater Bay Area since the outline development plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was unveiled in February.
Themed on the Greater Bay Area, a series of activities, including the opening and closing ceremonies, film exhibitions, as well as professional forums, will be held during the film week.
Six film exhibitions and free film broadcasting activities will take place during the festival. The premiere of the film Ip Man 4, which is scheduled to open nationwide on Dec 20, will be held on Dec 17 in Foshan with star Donnie Yen appearing on stage along with the film's crew.
In addition, nine featured activities centering on kung fu, one of the most distinctive features of Foshan, will also be launched during the film week, such as the opening of Wong Fei-hung Memorial Hall, a kung fu short video contest, and a Wing Chun contest.
