Party Secretary Zheng Renhao spoke highly of the great achievements Zhanjiang made in its port industry, coastal tourism, characteristic advantage agriculture, as well as integrated military and civilian development at the plenary meeting of the Zhanjiang delegation at the 13th Guangdong Provincial People's Congress held on Jan 14.

Over the past year, Zhanjiang has worked towards building a world-class green and environmentally friendly high-end base for port heavy industry. Zhanjiang currently has four major port-based industrial projects with an investment of more than $10 billion, including the Baosteel Zhanjiang project, the China-Kuwait Integrated Refining project, and the BASF (Guangdong) Integrated project.

Zhanjiang is steadily advancing the development of its coastal tourism. The city has steadily promoted investment attraction and key project construction through the planning and construction of Guangdong Coastal Tourism Road and other infrastructures. At present, the largest coastal water park in Guangdong province has been completed and opened in Wuchuan.

In 2019, four national-level and 10 provincial-level modern agricultural industrial parks in Zhanjiang were newly approved. The city also has two national marine pasture projects. With the transformation and upgrading of the deep processing of products, its agriculture and marine fishery industries have developed rapidly, increasing the income of farmers and farmers significantly.

In addition, Zhanjiang has accelerated the development of military and civilian integration. Zhanjiang has the only national military-civilian integrated industry demonstration base in the province, which currently has 52 projects with a total investment of 16.5 billion yuan ($2.4 billion).
