Digital platforms enable Shenzhen to present its annual fashion week online from Guangdong province, avoiding the mass gatherings that could spread the coronavirus.
About 70 brands will take part in the event, which will be broadcast from Friday to Thursday via a video portal of Douyin, a leading provider of short video apps in China, which has amassed more than 400 million daily active users.
For seven consecutive days, virtual showrooms will display short videos produced by brands and released on the Shenzhen Fashion Week account on Douyin.
While netizens are enjoying the cloud fashion show, buyers can order through a specialized channel on Douyin.
Fashion Week has been be held for five years. This season is themed "New Boundless Fashion — Creating a New Stylish Life", which explores the infinite possibilities of breakthroughs in fashion from different perspectives and sustainable development methods.
