The Facebook (@ThisisZhongshan) and Twitter (@ThisisZhongshan) of Zhongshan pages were officially launched on May 1.

Zhongshan in South China's Guangdong province is located in the south-central part of the Pearl River Delta region, and is an important waterway that connects Guangzhou with Hong Kong and Macao.

Zhongshan is also the hometown of the political and revolutionary leader Sun Yat-sen (also known as Sun Zhongshan, 1866-1925), who is known as the Father of Modern China. The city is named in his memory.
