All primary and secondary schools in Guangdong province, except those in Lufeng, Shanwei, will start as scheduled on Sept 1.

Schools in Lufeng will start gradually, said Wang Chuang, deputy director of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, at a press conference in Guangzhou on Aug 28.

With the improvement of the COVID-19 epidemic situation, students returned to school in phases in Guangdong between April 27 and June 2. 

By the end of the 2020 spring semester, 19 million students returned to school  in Guangdong in a safe and orderly manner. 

College and senior high school entrance examinations were carried out in a safe and healthy manner, Wang added.
