Maoming's GDP rises by 1.5% in 2020
The regional gross domestic product of Maoming reached 327.93 billion yuan ($50.99 billion) in 2020, a year-on-year increase of 1.5 percent.
The added value of the primary industry was 64.87 billion yuan, up 5.4 percent year-on-year. The added value of the city's secondary industry rose by 1.1 percent to 103.24 billion yuan, while that of the tertiary industry reached 159.82 billion yuan, increasing by 0.5 percent year-on-year.
The total output value of agriculture in Maoming in 2020 exceeded 100 billion yuan for the first time, while the added value of agriculture was 65.98 billion yuan, increasing by 5.4 percent year-on-year.

The added value of industrial enterprises above designated size saw a year-on-year decline of 2.3 percent in 2020, which narrowed 9.7 percent from the decline that was seen in the first three quarters of the year.
An industrial enterprise above designated size refers to one that has an annual operation revenue surpassing 20 million yuan.
The fixed-asset investment of Maoming saw a year-on-year increase of 0.7 percent in 2020, which was 3.6 percentage points higher than that of the first 11 months of the year and 10.4 percentage points higher than that of the first three quarters of the year.
Maoming's total retail sales of consumer goods in 2020 were 135.65 billion yuan, down 5.7 percent, which narrowed 7.1 percent from the figure for the first half of the year and 12 percent from that of the first quarter of the year.

The total volume of foreign trade in Maoming was 19.93 billion yuan in 2020, a year-on-year increase of 1.5 percent, and 20.1 percentage points higher than that of the first three quarters of the year. Exports fell by 0.8 percent to 16.92 billion yuan, while imports amounted to 3 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth rate of 16.3 percent.
By the end of 2020, the city's urban registered unemployment rate was 2.48 percent, down 0.1 percent from that of the first three quarters of the year.
The per capita disposable income of the city's permanent residents was 24,600 yuan, a year-on-year nominal growth of 6.4 percent.
A total of 66,210 registered impoverished households in Maoming, housing 154,654 people, met the standards for being lifted out of poverty, as did 180 provincial-level poverty-stricken villages.
The total number of newly registered market entities in Maoming in 2020 was 57,900, a year-on-year increase of 8 percent.
