Gaozhou has been planting longan for more than 1,000 years. Now the planting area in the city has reached more than 200 million square meters. There are varieties such as Chuliang and Shixia; in particular, Chuliang has been awarded the Golden Award by the first China International Modern Agricultural Exhibition, named a famous-brand product by the Third China International Modern Agricultural Exhibition, and given the top prize in Guangdong Province's longan assessment. It is even stored in the High-quality Longan Gene Bank by the Institute of Pomology of CAAS. 

Longan, with rich glucose, sucrose, protein, and iron content, can increase heat energy, supplement nutrition, promote hemoglobin regeneration, enhance memory and eliminate fatigue.
