Concerts featuring an orchestra from Zhuhai will be staged in Beijing to mark the 22nd anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland.
Live music performances will highlight Cantonese-style composition embodying Lingnan culture and projecting a vibrant image of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Most concerts will be held at the Tianqiao Performing Arts Center.
Named "Music from the Greater Bay Area", it has adapted music and songs of Guangdong for an orchestra. To enlighten audiences about the culture of Lingnan, the stage has been decorated in local style, while also making use of modern technology.
Other performances of the series will be held at Peking University and Shunyi Grand Theater. The event will last almost 10 days.
The performance series in Beijing represents an enormous opportunity, said Zou Jianhong, art director of Zhuhai Performing Arts Group. Zou expressed that it could be a boost to the image of the Greater Bay Area.
