Founded in 1956 and nationally renowned for its orthopedics specialty, Foshan Hospital of TCM is a 3A modern and large-scale comprehensive hospital of TCM committed to delivering state-of-the-art clinical care, innovative scientific research, rigorous medical education and health care and pension service. It is a non-directly affiliated hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, a teaching hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, a trauma emergency center of Foshan City, and a network hospital of International Emergency Assistance under the Ministry of Health. From 2011 to 2016 it was “the best hospital of TCM Ranking in any Prefecture-level City in China”.

Currently, the hospital has five branches, which are the headquarters, the Sanshui branch (Sanshui Hospital of TCM), the Chancheng National Hi-Tech Industrial Zone Branch, Nanshan Hospital and the Chengnan Outpatient and pharmaceutical center.

The hospital has 46 clinical and medical departments including Orthopedics, Internal Medicine, Emergency, ICU, Surgery, Gynecology and Obstetrics and Acupuncture, and nine medical technique departments. It has one Institute of Orthopedic Research, one Institute of Chinese Medicine Research and two 2nd Grade Laboratories of State Administration of TCM.

Its departments of Orthopedics, Encephalopathy, Diabetes and Oncology are key specialties of State Administration of TCM, while its departments of Emergency, Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Hematology, Acupuncture and Tuina are key specialties of the Guangdong Provincial Bureau of TCM and the department of Stomatology and Radiology are feature specialties of Foshan City.
