Foshan Xianhu Laboratory
The laboratory was formally inaugurated on Nov 21, 2019 and officially founded on Dec 23 of that year. It is located in Danzao Hydrogen Valley in the southern area of the Foshan Economic Development Zone.
With a floor space of 60,000 square meters, it will soon have two research centers, to be composed of ten professional laboratories, and one instrumental analysis center that will include three affiliated branches. There will be about 300 staff, one third of whom will be resident researchers.
The laboratory is committed to better aligning with the development needs of China's new energy and new materials industries like hydrogen energy and fuel cells. It aims to harness top innovation resources at home and abroad and to become a first-class national and world-leading technology innovation hub in the industries of new energy and new materials.
The laboratory will focus on research into key technologies involved in production of hydrogen energy, composite materials of fuel cells, power systems and intelligent & connected fuel cells, as well as the safety of hydrogen energy. It hopes to evolve into a platform conducive to technological innovation, personnel training and industry development of hydrogen energy and the promotion of the hydrogen sector in the entire province.
In accordance with its development plans, the laboratory will closely follow global science frontiers, better serve economic growth, and eventually develop into a center for global research, national transfer and radiation, top talents and international exchange, college student innovation and entrepreneurship, and high-tech enterprises incubation in the fields of hydrogen energy and new materials technologies.
