Contracts for projects worth over 12.8 billion yuan ($2 billion) were signed recently at the Sanshui Park of the Foshan National Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone, which will boost its leading industries of high-end equipment manufacturing, home furnishings and auto parts. 

Covering new energy vehicles, manufacturing and electronics, the projects are part of an ambitious long-term goal of reaching an output value of 100-billion-yuan set by the park and Leping Town, where the park is located. 

With major economic indicators showing positive signs, the town and the park completed 86 percent of their yearly investment attraction plan in the first four months of this year. 

More than 90 percent of the capital went to strategic emerging industries such as high-end equipment manufacturing, new energy and new materials industries. 

The capital distribution can be attributed to efforts in business environment and public service system upgrading starting this year, which have greatly ensured smooth implementation of key projects. 

Meanwhile, village renovations have been integrated into industrial development. For example, projects of high-end and special equipments such as elevators have been introduced. 

Planning for an economic development zone and logistic capability are being made, which will facilitate high-speed growth of the park and the town.
