On Feb 8, a commencement ceremony for Fobei Zhanxin Industrial Park was held in Yundonghai Life Science Park in Foshan, hosted by Zheng Haitao, member of the Standing Committee of the Foshan Municipal Committee, as well as executive deputy mayor and secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Foshan High-tech Zone.

As one of seven large-scale industrial clusters in Guangdong province, Fobei Zhanxin Industrial Park has a total area of 487 square kilometers. It will be built into a base for the development of advanced manufacturing and a demonstration highland for technological innovation and industrialization.

In the first quarter of 2022, 26 major projects, including 21 industrial projects, 4 infrastructure projects, and 1 livelihood project, will be started in the park, accounting for a quarter of the total number of major projects in Foshan.  

Mayor Bai Tao attended the event and delivered a speech. He said that the construction of Fobei Zhanxin Industrial Park is a major strategic plan made by the local government. It is necessary to promote the construction of the park with the fastest speed and highest efficiency to achieve practical results, and strive to create a new growth pole for the high-quality development of the city's manufacturing industry.

According to the planned work arrangement, the construction and development of the park is being led by the Foshan High-tech Zone Management Committee, and will be built in cooperation with Nanhai and Sanshui districts.

The Foshan High-tech Zone Management Committee will give full play to its role in science and technology finance, industrial cultivation, policy support and resource allocation, integrate the resources required for project construction such as finance and human resources, and cooperate with other relevant departments to provide strong support for the smooth construction of the park.

The committee previously organized a research team to go to the Guangzhou-Qingyuan Cooperation Zone and various government units to carry out research activities, and learn from the experience and practices of cooperation zones inside and outside Guangdong to formulate an implementation plan.

According to the plan, the park will act as a reform and innovation experimental area, high-quality development demonstration area, emerging industry agglomeration area and innovative service leading area.

In the first quarter, 102 major projects will start construction in Foshan with a total investment of 135.40 billion yuan ($21.35 billion) and an annual planned investment of 20.72 billion yuan.
