Foshan Ruijiatu Medical Technology Co., Ltd. has become the first manufacturer of portable magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain and neck in the world.

Ruijiatu Medical Technology recently got approval of its application for the new product from the National Medical Products Administration.

The newly developed portable MRI has made it possible for patients to undergo scanning of their brain and neck in their wards.

As the world's first portable MRI product with a level-three national license for medical machinery and equipment, it is capable of fully meeting the demand of patients who have suffered cerebral ischemic strokes.

The company said there were many non-technical problems to be solved in addition to developing the device during its research and development period.

Ruijiatu Medical Technology settled in the Foshan National High-tech Industrial Development Zone when its research team was conducting a national search for available capital and functional zones in 2020.

The Administrative Commission of Foshan National High-tech Industrial Development Zone granted Ruijiatu Medical Technology support in its research and development endeavors. The MRI project demanded large investment, high standards for industrialization and faced uncertainties in the market.

Ruihongtu Medical Technology, a subsidiary company of Ruijiatu Medical Technology, stood out from other competitors and received financial assistance totaling five million yuan from the Administrative Commission of the Foshan National High-tech Industrial Development Zone during a selection of candidate research and development projects in 2020.

Guangdong Fogao Holding Corporation Ltd. made an equity investment of five million yuan in Ruijiatu Medical Technology to further aid its research and development efforts and facilitate the industrialization of its products in the same year.

Ruijiatu Medical Technology has passed a medical machinery and equipment review, undergone examination of its product quality and completed the clinical trials of its new products.

The new MRI has helped China break the monopoly held by other countries in MRI machinery and equipment and nurtured a group of leading talents for the Foshan National High-tech Industrial Development Zone in the process of entrepreneurship and innovation.
