A signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement for the Guangdong Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park project was held recently.

The project is located in Nanhai Park of Foshan High-tech Zone, with a planned total investment of 3 billion yuan ($444.9 million). It will focus on the needs of the entire chain of intelligent manufacturing and build an intelligent manufacturing benchmark park with an area of 450,000 square meters.

The project will accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the intelligent manufacturing equipment industry in Foshan High-tech Zone by introducing and cultivating industrial clusters with the intelligent manufacturing industry as the core and featuring automotive electronics, precision reducers and intelligent sensors. It will help Foshan High-tech Zone become a national first-class advanced manufacturing park and an international innovation center in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

As a park with high concentration of technological innovation elements in Foshan High-tech Zone, Nanhai Park combines its own manufacturing advantages as well as  innovation elements such as industry, technology, capital and talents to promote the transformation and development of the manufacturing industry and the cultivation of new economy.

Today, Nanhai Park is mainly based on the real economy and the private economy. Traditional industries such as equipment manufacturing, home appliances and furniture, automobiles and auto parts have outstanding advantages, and emerging industries such as robotics, 3D printing, new materials and biomedicine are booming.

In the first quarter of this year, Nanhai Park introduced 2 key industrial projects exceeding 100 million yuan and signed 3 high-tech projects.

Guo Yaoyu, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and director of the Nanhai Park Administration Bureau of Foshan High-tech Zone, said that the Nanhai Park will gather more and more innovative elements such as talents, technology, capital, equipment and information to help the development of the high-tech zone.
