The Foshan Central Talents & Innovation Lighthouse Industrial Park covers an area of 30 square kilometers in the Shishan township of Nanhai district. It is close to Foshan West Railway Station and takes about 30 and 40 minutes for people to reach Guangzhou South Railway Station and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport respectively.

There are five universities with nearly 60,000 faculty members and students in Nanhai University Town of the Foshan Central Talents & Innovation Lighthouse Industrial Park, which is also home to 15 major sci-tech innovation platforms, five national-level innovation & entrepreneurship incubators, and five national-level service spaces for innovators.

Create a benchmark for talent attraction

The Foshan Central Talents & Innovation Lighthouse Industrial Park is positioned as a highland of talent in the west of the Greater Bay Area, setting a new national benchmark for the technology-driven and collaborated development of the chains of talents, industries and innovation. It also demonstrates a new paradigm for the cultivation of strategic emerging industries in Guangdong, and a model of the synergetic development among people, industrial development, urban construction and the cultural sector in Foshan.

As an important industrial park and a major project for the innovative development of the manufacturing sector in Foshan, the Foshan Central Talents & Innovation Lighthouse Industrial Park is set to become a highland of talents and innovation. Combining human resources and technological innovation, the initial progress has been attained through the cultivation of strategic emerging industries. Operational systems and institutions will continue to become more flexible and efficient, and the supporting facilities for public services will be established by 2025.

In addition, the Foshan Central Talents & Innovation Lighthouse Industrial Park will seek to build itself into a hub of talents in the Greater Bay Area, and become a national demonstration base for independent innovation by 2030.

To realize the development goals, the Foshan Central Talents & Innovation Lighthouse Industrial Park will build five additional national-level and provincial-level laboratories, attract the settlement of 1,500 overseas returnees and graduate students from leading domestic universities, nurture over 40 teams of technological innovation, and foster more than 100 gazelle and unicorn companies. Its output value is expected to surpass 100 billion yuan.

Meanwhile, the Administrative Committee of the Foshan National High-tech Industrial Development Zone will collaborate with the Foshan Central Talents & Innovation Lighthouse Industrial Park to fully leverage the functions of technological finance, industrial cultivation, policy support and resource deployment, as well as strengthen interactions with other government departments at all levels, and facilitate the building of an operational mechanism featuring efficient policy-making, smooth operations, a balance between responsibilities and duties, and synergetic development.
