Founded in 1914, Huazhou No 1 Middle School is a key middle school in Huazhou. In 1995, it was rated as a provincial first-class school. 

In 2011, it passed acceptance as a state-level model senior middle school with excellent results. In the same year, it was rated as a "national civilized unit".
