Maoming's parks, squares, and major road networks have been decorated with lanterns to welcome the Spring Festival as of Jan 25.

In order to create a festive atmosphere for the Spring Festival, Maoming started the Spring Festival lantern construction project in November 2021. In mid-December, 2021, the production staff of the lantern team entered the west bank of the Xiaodong River to start work on the Spring Festival lantern project. Recently, the group had finished installing and debugging the lanterns, officially lighting them up on Jan 25.

The Auspicious Chinese Year lantern group in the cultural square was also turned on the same day. This extra-large freestanding lantern was designed to be shaped like a palace lantern. It is one of the distinctive ethnic traditional handicrafts in Chinese lanterns.

There are 11 groups of lanterns in Xinhu Park. As the tiger is the zodiac animal for the upcoming Chinese New Year, these lamp groups were designed with a tiger theme. They have been a hit with many children and many people have taken photos with them since they were lit up.

Among the city's various park squares and road networks, Xinhu Park boasts the most lanterns. The lantern group named Dream Flowers has been arranged in the lake, which has made visitors feel like they're in a fairyland. The numerous enchanting and colorful flower lanterns complement each other and the clear lake water to create an enchanting scene.

Jiangdong Middle Road intersects with Guanshan Road, and the lanterns in the north and south sections are different from each other. From Youcheng Road to Guanshan Road, yellow, red, and blue are the main colors of the lanterns, while from Guanshan Road to Guandu Road, red is the main color. A resident surnamed Wang said that these roads were so beautiful that they made people feel relaxed and happy.
