Since the launch of the Maoming street evaluation activity this year, the Maoming urban management and law enforcement bureau has taken multiple measures to bolster the environmental sanitation of the city's primary and secondary arterial roads to create a clean travel environment for the public.

Maoming has strengthened inspections, as well as policy publicity and guidance, conducting face-to-face publicity activities to businesses and the public to raise their awareness of related laws and regulations.

"In the past, some merchants piled their own sundries, tables, and chairs outside their store's door, which blocked the way for people trying to pass through. Now there are no piles in front of the store, and the street's environmental quality has also improved," said a citizen surnamed Liang, who works in China Overseas Building.

In the past, abandoned cars and shared bicycles occupied road resources on Gaoling Middle Road, which affected traffic and the street's appearance. Maoming has stepped up efforts to manage the issue of random and excessive parking of shared bicycles, notifying the administrators of shared bicycle companies to strengthen the management and punishment of this issue. The city's urban management department has also added more than 200 bicycle parking spaces, as well as correspondingly added motor vehicle parking spaces.

Maoming also punished the act of posting small advertisements indiscriminately on this road section, as well as carried out special rectification on this behavior of businesses distributing leaflets through in-person interviews, warnings, as well as collecting leaflets. Six cases of random posting of small advertisements were punished subsequently.
