Youchengxu in Maonan district, Maoming, hosted the "Goodhearted Maoming" online Spring Festival gala on Feb 4. As a well-known mass cultural event in Maoming, the online Spring Festival Gala has been held for six sessions, with an online and offline viewership of tens of millions.

This year, the online Spring Festival Gala has been upgraded to an online village gala. It is poised to focus on rural areas and farmers, continues to spread Maoming's rural vitalization, and open a new chapter of progress in the new year.

This gala is dedicated to exploring and promoting excellent rural culture extensively and has especially included local characteristic folk programs, such as Maonan Hongquan, one of the southern styles of traditional Chinese martial arts. In 2022, Maonan Hongquan was included in the eighth batch of representative projects of intangible cultural heritage in Guangdong province.

This year's village gala features various programs and bold innovations, presenting splendid performances of singing, dancing, recitation, stage plays, and other popular art programs. The diverse forms of performance showcase the cultural heritage and historical features of  Maoming, providing a cultural feast full of laughter and emotions for the broad audience in the city.
