The city of Maoming has a lychee cultivation area of 1.4 million mu (93,333 hectares). The government is leveraging both manpower and big data platforms to assist farmers in promoting production and increasing income.

The agricultural and rural department in Maoming has deployed technical experts to guide local farmers in adopting measures such as vegetable and flower planting, as well as foliar spraying, to enhance the lychee production rate.

In Baiqiao village, the lychee orchard has harnessed the power of the Internet of Things (IoT) devices, integrated through a big data platform. These devices monitor real-time soil moisture, weather conditions, and pest situations, relaying the information to the farmers' mobile phones. This technological support has been instrumental in improving lychee production, with over 100 sets of IoT facilities installed in key lychee production areas across Maoming.

Through the integration of technology and agricultural expertise, Maoming has empowered local farmers to optimize their cultivation practices, leading to improved crop yields and enhanced economic returns.
