Shuidong Harbor, the main body of current Maoming Port, mainly engages in oil product and liquid chemical product transportation as well as bulk cargo and container transportation.

As a comprehensive harbor, it has three 10,000 ton-class wharves for liquid chemicals and two for oil and gas, and 9 general bulk and comprehensive wharves below 20,000 ton class. Its berth’s annual design throughput capacity is 10,570 million tons, with the actual throughput 12.9 million tons completed in the year 2011.

Shuidong Harbor plans to focus on container, oil product and tourist transportation. It also serves urban production, life and development, and offers harbor support for hi-tech industrial development area and Hexi industrial town.

According to present planning, there will be three 10,000 oil product berths, 8 general berths below 30,000 ton class, and two 100,000 ton-class berths based on two 500 ton-class ones.
