Maoming has a long history of fish farming. As early as the Tang Dynasty (618 CE-907 CE), the people of Xinyi have been raising fish. By 1656, Dianbai had developed marine aquaculture.
Maoming has been striving to build a thriving coastal economic belt, with the construction of Maoming Binhai New Area and port industrial projects currently in full swing.
A propane and propylene separation tower, core equipment for the propane dehydrogenation (PDH) plant for the comprehensive utilization of alkane resources in Oriental Energy (Maoming) was shipped from Zhangjiagang Port, and will arrive at the Jeddah Port of Maoming Binhai New Area at the end of December.
The first anti-typhoon floating offshore wind turbine in China was recently hoisted and assembled at the Guanggang Wharf at the Maoming Port.
The import and export industry has been officially kick-started at Bohe New Harbor's Guanggang Wharf, with a ceremony marking the sector's first inbound voyage held at the Binhai New Area site on March 5.
Construction of the railway between the newly built Maoming East Railway Station and the Bohe New Harbor of Maoming Port is currently in full swing.
