The bureau of agriculture and rural affairs of Maoming and the city's bureau of industry and information technology signed a strategic cooperation agreement in 5G plus digital agriculture with the Maoming branch of China Mobile on May 26.

The cooperation aims to advance the transformation and upgrading of the city's agricultural industrial chain, promote the building of a city strong in agriculture, and make greater contributions to rural revitalization through the construction of 5G plus modern agriculture industrial parks, 5G plus artificial intelligence precision planting and farming, as well as 5G smart fisheries.

In recent years, Maoming has been promoting the industrialized development of its agricultural sector. It has formed 10 agricultural characteristic industries and built six featured agricultural industrial belts.

The city is creating a new pattern of modern agriculture, integrating one national lychee industrial park, one national agricultural science and technology park, two national rural complex pilots, as well as six provincial modern agriculture industrial parks.

To date, the Maoming branch of China Mobile has set up more than 800 5G base stations in the city and is expected to finish the construction of 1,200 base stations by the end of this year.
