Zhanjiang Customs was added to the list of cross-border e-commerce business-to-business (B2B) export supervision pilot zones by the General Administration of Customs on Aug 13.

Enterprises in Zhanjiang and Maoming, which are within the jurisdiction of Zhanjiang Customs, will be eligible to carry out cross-border e-commerce B2B export business from Sept 1.

Cross-border e-commerce B2B export is split into two categories. One is the direct export of goods from domestic businesses to overseas businesses by cross-border logistics, while the other is export of goods by a domestic business, first to its overseas warehouse, then to overseas purchasers.

According to a person in charge of Zhanjiang Customs, the addition will further increase support for emerging industries and promote the pilot work of the cross-border e-commerce B2B export business in Zhanjiang and Maoming. This will accelerate the development of the cross-border e-commerce trade in west Guangdong, cultivate new growth drivers and further enhance regional economic competitiveness.

In recent years, the import and export trade of Zhanjiang and Maoming has displayed apparent advantages in manufacturing industries like small household appliances, eiderdown processing, bamboo weaving products, and toy models.
