Bohe Port: a fishing port with a thousand-year history

Bohe Port in Maoming is a starting port of the Maritime Silk Road in Guangdong province, and is also renowned as the "ancient port with a thousand-year history along the Maritime Silk Road."

As early as the Southern and Northern Dynasties (420-581), Bohe Port has opened sea routes to trade with Guangzhou, the Beibu Gulf region, and Southeast Asia.

Bohe town, where the port is located, currently has 1,608 fishing boats, which have a gross power of 210,000 kilowatts. The annual amount of fishing at Bohe Port reached 146,000 metric tons, with an annual output value of 1.7 billion yuan ($249.36 million).

The number of fishing boats, the gross power of fishing boats, and the annual production at Bohe Port ranked first among all the fishing ports in Guangdong.

In addition, the annual number of fishing boats passing through the port reached 19,800, with a total discharging amount of 200,000 tons, ranking first in Guangdong.
