The second batch of 291 national famous-brand, special, excellent, and new products in 2020 was recently released by the agricultural product quality and safety center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

Six Maoming agricultural products, namely Gaozhou longan, Gaozhou beef cattle, Gaozhou broiler chicken, Gaozhou grass carp, Xinyi Sanhua plum, and Xinyi Huaixiang chicken, were included on the list.

To date, the city has a total of 11 agricultural products that are on the list of national famous-brand, special, excellent, and new products.

The national famous-brand, special, excellent, and new products refer to those produced in a specific region, as well as boasting a certain production scale, significant regional characteristics, unique nutrition, a stable supply and consumption market, as well as strong public awareness and reputation.

They need to also be registered by the agricultural product quality and safety center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and have related certificates issued.

The selection of national famous-brand, special, excellent, and new products started in 2018, with the aim of improving the quality of agricultural products, cultivating local characteristic agricultural product brands, and promoting the development of regional advantageous agricultural industries.
