Construction of the first-phase breakwater project of Jida Harbor of Maoming Port started in Binhai New Area of Maoming on Oct 20.

The first-phase breakwater project refers to the breakwater in the eastern part of Jida Harbor. It has a total length of nearly 5,568 meters, and is mainly used to protect the No 1 and No 2 harbor basins that are in the planning stage.

After completion, the breakwater will be able to cover the construction of 14 liquid bulk cargo berths and general cargo berths that can berth 1-tonnage to 5-tonnage ships. It is expected to further improve the supporting services of Jida Lingang Industrial Area, facilitating the investment environment and promoting the development of port services.
