The Beibu Gulf Organization for Economic Cooperation will hold its 11th meeting from Nov 21 to 23 in Maoming, South China's Guangdong province, along with the third meeting of the Beibu Gulf Organization for City Cooperation.
To ensure that the meetings go well, preparations are under way at the city's civic center, including the arrangement of the exhibition showcasing the regional cooperation achievements among Beibu Gulf cities.
Government leaders and business representatives from 35 member units, including Beihai, Nanning, Yulin, and Chongzuo in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, Sanya and Haikou in Hainan province, as well as Zhanjiang and Yangjiang in Guangdong, will be present at the meetings to discuss plans for regional cooperation and development in the Beibu Gulf.

The Beibu Gulf Organization for Economic Cooperation was jointly set up in Zhanjiang on Oct 24, 2000 to reinforce mutual economic exchanges and build the Beibu Gulf region into an economic development hub for southern China.
The first batch of organization members totaled 11, including seven cities, one economic development zone, and three enterprises. Maoming joined in 2010.
The Beibu Gulf Organization for City Cooperation was established on the basis of the Beibu Gulf Organization for Economic Cooperation in October 2016.
To date, the number of the member units of the Beibu Gulf Organization for Economic Cooperation has risen to 35, including 18 cities and 17 enterprises, which have made fruitful cooperation achievements in transportation, industries, cultural tourism, ecological protection, social livelihood, as well as governance.
