The introduction of the renowned food processing enterprise Guangdong Modocom Food Group into Tanru village has also contributed to the good reputation of Tanru turnips.
In 2018, Tanru Planting and Breeding Specialized Cooperatives awarded 171,000 yuan ($26,149) in bonuses to the impoverished households in the village. The per capita bonus for impoverished people who were able to work reached 1,100 yuan.

The cooperative, led by the CPC Tanru village committee, has been focusing on the development of the characteristic turnip industry. It has guided villagers to become shareholders with land management rights, money or industrial poverty alleviation funds, made innovations in the cooperation model, as well as implemented large-scale and standardized production.
