Seven measures have been launched by the city of Maoming to encourage non-local employees of enterprises in the city to spend their Spring Festival - which this year falls on Feb 12 - in Maoming, instead of leaving for their hometowns.

Employees without registered permanent residence in Guangdong province can enjoy a 15 percent discount at all Maoming Minghu Supermarket stores in the city using their identity cards, work passes or enterprise employment certificates.

They can also visit Maoming Forest Park and the Yuhu Lake Water Conservancy Scenic Area free of charge with their identity cards, work passes or enterprise employment certificates.

To ensure the communication needs of non-local employees during the Spring Festival holiday, 10 gigabytes of mobile internet data or equivalent telephone expenses will be offered to them by China Telecom, China Mobile, and China Unicom.

A pandemic prevention material package that includes masks and hand sanitizers will be provided for non-local employees who stay in Maoming for the Spring Festival.

Non-local employees who meet vaccination conditions will be given priority for free vaccination against COVID-19.

In addition, non-local employees who work during the Spring Festival holiday shall be given overtime allowances in accordance with relevant regulations.

Governmental officials of all the districts, county-level cities and economic functional areas in the city should pay a visit to non-local employees who stay in Maoming for the Spring Festival to care for their lives, or organize activities to enrich their holidays.

These measures will be valid from Feb 11 to 26.
