Maoming's per capita disposal income rises by 6.1% in 2020

The per capita disposal income of Maoming in Guangdong province saw a year-on-year increase of 6.1 percent to 24,600.4 yuan ($3,782.8) in 2020, according to the Maoming investigation team of the National Bureau of Statistics.

The growth rate is 1.4 percentage points and 0.9 percentage points higher than the nation's and province's respectively.

The city's per capita disposal income grew by 1.3 percent in the first quarter of 2020, 3.1 percent in the first half year, and 4.5 percent in the first three quarters respectively.

The per capita disposable income of urban residents in Maoming reached 30,733 yuan in 2020, increasing by 4.5 percent year-on-year, while that of rural residents was 19,621.2 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.2 percent, which is 1.7 percentage points higher than the growth rate of the urban per capita disposable income.

Maoming has taken measures to support enterprises resuming work and production, organized special job fairs for college graduates, impoverished people and rural labor forces, and given allowances to stabilize employment.

The per capita wage income of Maoming in 2020 was 13,512.5 yuan, a year-on-year growth rate of 6.4 percent and accounting for 54.9 percent of the per capita disposal income. The per capita net income from operations in 2020 saw a year-on-year increase of 7.2 percent to 3,387.5 yuan.

Subsistence allowances for both urban and rural residents in Maoming in 2020 were raised by 10 percent over 2019, and the reimbursement rate for critical illness insurances was increased to 80 percent.

Furthermore, the city has made great efforts to combat poverty. By the end of June 2020, a total of 66,860 registered impoverished households with 155,709 people as well as the 180 provincial-level impoverished villages were lifted out of poverty according to the national standard.

The per capita transfer income of Maoming in 2020 reached 5,932.2 yuan, a year-on-year of 3.4 percent, which is 2.3 percentage points higher than that of the first three quarters of the year.

In addition, the per capita net property income was 1,768.2 yuan, increasing by 11.4 percent year-on-year.
