A farming museum opened in Maoming's Shiwanqi village at the start of the year, boasting thousands of exhibits that showcase ancient farming life to popularize farming culture.

The main building of the farming museum boasts Lingnan-style architecture. It shows the development of the village, humanistic customs, rice culture, and traditional crafts.

All of the exhibits in the museum were donated by Zhang Jinwang, an officer who had a long passion for collecting farm tools in this village.

The museum has a farming dynamic model exhibition area, as well as four exhibition areas  themed around the spring, summer, autumn, and winter seasons.

The farming dynamic model exhibition area is a highlight of the museum. The small models of farmers, farm tools, and agricultural machinery can start farming after being powered on, vividly recreating the farming process of plowing, raising seedlings, transplanting seedlings, harvesting, as well as entering warehouses.

Shiwanqi village is a rural community in western Guangdong that mainly grows rice, corn, and vegetables. The original intention to build the museum was to arouse public enthusiasm for caring about, protecting, and researching traditional farming culture. In May, Shiwanqi village was awarded the destination of being a Guangdong humanities and social science popularization demonstration base.
